Following a successful career as a Financial Advisor, Gaynette LaRue picked up a paintbrush to refresh a piece of furniture in her home, and never put it down. Painting, decorating, and refurbishing interesting individual pieces of furniture is now her passion.
The Spark of Opportunity
Upon retirement from the world of financial services, helping others save for retirement, I decided to try my hand at refurbishing an aged, peeling, and badly marred chest of drawers in my house.
I took to YouTube to learn proper techniques for such a venture. I learned about proper Prep, Paint, and Protect procedures when painting furniture and dived into the world of refurbishment.
The result was so much better than I had imagined that I decided to try refreshing another piece, a small table in my living room. I tried a new technique with it, and it also turned out better than my imagination.
By now I was hooked. After redoing 10 pieces of my own, I decided to try one to sell – a lovely chest of drawers.
It worked – I sold it! And that started me on my journey to Simply Posh By Gaynette.
